Redefining Tennis Experience: Tennis Club in Strasbourg
Paul Le Quernec has envisioned a new tennis hall building in Strasbourg, featuring three covered tennis courts and a modern clubhouse comprising changing rooms, a fitness facility, office space, and a restaurant with a bar and expansive covered terrace.
Dynamic Design Inspired by Tennis
The design of this tennis club draws direct inspiration from the flow of people within and through the building, mirroring the dynamic trajectories of tennis balls as they move from point to point and function to function.
Ample Daylighting and Unique Color Treatment
The new building boasts generous daylighting through sky domes, enhancing the overall ambiance. A special color treatment of the floor further amplifies the effect of natural light. Areas illuminated by daylight feature a beige resin treatment, while room borders and corners are accentuated with deep orange resin, seamlessly connected by a handmade color gradient. This innovative approach creates an augmented reality, evoking a sense of sunny weather regardless of the actual meteorological conditions.
Customized Furniture Designs
Every piece of furniture in the club has been meticulously designed for this project, with each item being a unique creation. A standout feature is the 777cm long bar crafted from solid wood slices. One edge of the bar rests on the floor, while the opposite edge is suspended from the roof, creating a sense of openness and spaciousness in the area underneath.
The Tennis Club in Strasbourg redefines the tennis experience, not only providing state-of-the-art facilities for players but also offering a visually stunning and immersive environment that enhances the overall enjoyment of the sport and social interactions within the club.
