Apple unveiled the long-awaited MacBook Air (2022) and the 13-inch MacBook Pro (2022) during the ongoing Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC). Both laptops are powered by the new M2 chipset, marking significant upgrades over their predecessors.

Design Overhauls and Chipset Power

The MacBook Air (2022) has undergone a major design overhaul, featuring a fan-less design for enhanced efficiency. On the other hand, the 13-inch MacBook Pro (2022) showcases minor design changes and maintains similarities with its previous model. Both laptops are equipped with the Apple M2 chipset, which will also power upcoming iPads.

Pricing and Availability in India

In terms of pricing, the Apple MacBook Air (2022) starts at ₹1,19,900 for the 8GB Unified memory + 256GB storage variant, while the 8GB Unified memory + 512GB SSD variant is priced at ₹1,49,900. Additionally, users can upgrade the memory to up to 24GB Unified memory and the SSD to 2TB. The MacBook Air will be available in Midnight, Starlight, Space Gray, and Silver color options starting next month.

Running on macOS Monterey, the MacBook Air (2022) boasts a 13.6-inch Liquid Retina Display with thin bezels, a notch, and 500 nits of brightness. With a durable all-aluminum body measuring just 11.3mm thin and weighing 1.2 kg, it offers up to 24GB of Unified Memory and up to 2TB SSD. Other features include a Magic keyboard with Touch ID, a 1080p FaceTime HD camera, and a MagSafe 3 charging port. Apple claims a battery life of up to 18 hours.

13-inch MacBook Pro Pricing and Specifications

The 13-inch MacBook Pro (2022) is priced at ₹1,29,900 for the 8GB Unified memory and 256GB SSD variant, and ₹1,49,900 for the 8GB Unified memory and 512GB SSD variant, with similar memory and SSD upgrade options as the MacBook Air. It also runs on macOS Monterey and features a 13-inch Liquid Retina Display with up to 500 nits of brightness. Powered by the Apple M2 chipset, it offers up to 24GB of Unified Memory and up to 2TB SSD. Additionally, it includes the Magic keyboard with Touch ID, an active cooling system, and features such as the Touch Bar and Touch ID. Apple claims a battery life of up to 20 hours.
